# What is a collection?

Collections are dynamic groupings of products in your storefront. Unlike tags or categories that group based on fixed properties, Collections allow greater flexibility.

## How to define Collections

You define Collections based on specific rules. Rules allow you to set the following criteria for your Collections:

- Include specified tags - Include specified manufacturers - Be within a given price range - Be within a given price status - Be published within a given timeframe

Collections are best explained through examples.

## Collections example 1

Lets create a Collection called: **BOSS Sale**

For this, you would specify the following rules:

| Rule | Criteria |
| --------------------- | ------------------------ |
| Limit to price status | Reduced price items only |
| Limit to manufacturer | BOSS |

You would enter these rules in Aero as shown below;

## Collections example 2

As another example, you could create a Collection called: **Everything Pink Under £2000**

For this example, you would specify the following rules:

| Rule | Criteria |
| -------------------- | ------------ |
| Limit to tags | Colour: Pink |
| Limit to price range | 0 : 2000 |
